What a first-time visitor finds at London Brow

Jisun Yoo, owner of London Brow · · Editorial principles

London Brow is a one-room studio a 30-second walk from Seolleung Station, run by one owner. The person you message on WhatsApp is the person who meets you, designs your brows and draws them, one client at a time and by appointment only. A first visit starts with your own hair and face, and the menu is decided after that.

A London Brow first visit: what you can check before you come

I'm Jisun, the owner of London Brow in Seoul. These days I consult and work in a one-room studio a 30-second walk from Seolleung Station. It is not a salon floor with a front desk and a row of chairs. It is one room, one owner and one client at a time, and that shapes almost everything a first-time visitor finds.

If you are reading this before you message, the useful part is what you can check yourself. English consultations run on WhatsApp and are translation-assisted. The studio is closed on Sundays. It works by appointment only, so there is no counter to walk up to. Those three facts cover most first questions. Everything else is settled in the consultation.

Who you meet: the person you messaged

The first thing you find is that there is only one person to meet. I consult, design and draw every brow myself, and I work alone in one room. The person who read your photo on WhatsApp is the person who sits down with you and holds the pencil. There is no second artist and no separate consultant, so you do not have to explain your brows twice.

The room is private. During your appointment you are the only client in it, and nobody is waiting for the same chair, so you can take a moment, ask a question twice or change your mind about a line without an audience.

What you can read before you arrive: three menus and dated records

There are three menus: Natural Brow (microblading-style hair strokes), Powder Soft Combo (soft combo: strokes + light powder shading) and Men's Brow. The design idea behind all three is the same: a natural brow that keeps your original impression rather than a big change, and never the same brow twice. You can test that against my records. Pick any two photos and compare only the fronts. If the starting points, the arch height and the tail length differ from one face to the next, the idea is working.

Then read the label before you read the brow. Many photos you will see are from 2020, and each one says so. Newer records carry their own dates. Every photo is posted without editing the brow, skin or face, and it is labeled right after the session, because that is the day it shows. A few slides are marked one month later, before the touch-up.

How a consultation starts

It starts with a short message, not a form. Tell me which menu you are curious about, send one bare-brow photo taken straight on in daylight, and give the dates you could come if you are visiting from abroad. You do not need to have chosen a menu before you write.

In the room, the consultation starts with what you already have. I look at your own hair and your face shape first, and which menu suits you is decided after that, together.

Then ask me one thing that matters to you about the studio itself. Who will draw? Me. Is it a shared floor? No, one room. Is it open on Sunday? No. Questions like these are easy to answer before you come, and it is better to hear the answers from me than to guess them from an old post.

Before your consultation

  • Check the date label on any London Brow photo before comparing it with the brow you want.
  • Compare the fronts of two different records to see whether the design changes with the face.
  • Plan your visit for a day other than Sunday.
  • Send one bare-brow photo in daylight with your first message.

Common questions

Will a receptionist or another artist meet me first?

No. There is no front desk and no second artist. I consult, design and draw myself, alone in one room, with one client at a time.

Which menus can I ask about on a first visit?

The three menus are Natural Brow, Powder Soft Combo and Men's Brow. Which one suits you is decided in the consultation, after I have seen your own hair and your face shape.

How do I find the door?

Ask me on WhatsApp once your appointment is agreed and I will tell you how to find it. You do not need to search for an address before then.
