How London Brow works / BROW JOURNAL
The first London Brow in 2020 and the studio now
The first London Brow was in Gangnam in 2020 and ran for about nine months. Most records on the journal and on Instagram come from that year, which is why they are dated 2020. Today the studio is a 30-second walk from Seolleung Station, with the same one-owner, one-room way of working.
What the 2020 studio was
I'm Jisun, the owner of London Brow in Seoul. The first London Brow was in Gangnam in 2020, and it ran for about nine months. That is the honest size of it. I say so plainly because the length matters when you look at my records. Nine months is enough to build a set of photos. It is not a long history, and I do not present it as one.
What that year gave me was a body of brow records, posted as they were taken. Captions from that time describe lines such as a semi-arch, a straight line or a round semi-arch. They note starting brows that were thin, missing hair at the back, spread out or coarse. Some record a request such as 'as natural as possible'. Those captions are the facts I work from when I write about the old records.
How to read a 2020 record today
When you open a record, look at the year before anything else. A photo from 2020 shows how I designed a brow in that studio, on that day. It does not show the studio you will visit, and it does not show how a brow looks later. Every photo is labeled right after the session and posted without editing the brow, skin or face.
Then look at one thing per photo. I usually suggest the front. Zoom in and ask whether the first strokes rise softly or start as a solid edge. If the 2020 fronts look soft and you want a soft front, the record is useful to you. If you want a bolder start, bring that up, because the old photos will not show what you are asking for.
What is different in the studio now
These days the studio is a 30-second walk from Seolleung Station. In 2026 I took an advanced brow technique course as retraining. The way of working did not change: I consult, design and draw myself, alone in one room, one client at a time, by appointment only. It is closed on Sundays.
The menu is the same three items. Natural Brow is microblading-style hair strokes. Powder Soft Combo is a soft combo: strokes + light powder shading. Men's Brow follows its own design rules. New records from the current studio carry their own dates, so over time you will see 2020 and later records side by side, each one labeled.
Bringing an old record to a new consultation
If a 2020 photo is the reason you are messaging, say which one and what you noticed. 'I like the straight line in the 2020 record with sparse hair at the back' is a message I can work with. I will tell you which parts of that design came from that person's own hair and which parts came from the drawing.
Ask me two things: would that line suit my face, and what would stay of my current brow? Every face is different, so a design from 2020 is a starting point for our conversation, not a template I copy.
Before your consultation
- Find the year on a record before you judge the brow in it.
- Zoom in on the front of one 2020 photo and decide whether that start is the kind you want.
- Note which record you like and the single feature you like in it.
- Send that note with a bare-brow photo when you message.
Common questions
Why are so many photos from 2020?
The first studio ran for about nine months in 2020, and those are the records I have. I label them with the year so you know exactly what you are looking at.
Is the current studio in the same place as in 2020?
No. The current studio is in a different place, a 30-second walk from Seolleung Station. The way of working, one owner and one room, is the same.
Will my brow look like the 2020 photos?
Not necessarily. I do not make the same brow twice. A record shows a design for one face; yours is designed after I see your hair and face shape.
