Preparing to consult / BROW JOURNAL
Using the brow preview to prepare your consultation questions
Use the brow preview before consultation as a question generator, not an answer. Spend a few minutes comparing the three styles and the intensity on your photo, notice what you keep coming back to and what you dislike, then write two or three questions under the saved card. AI virtual brows are not a result, but the questions they raise are real.
What the brow preview before consultation is for
I'm Jisun, the owner of London Brow in Seoul. My website has a brow preview: you choose a photo, pick women's or men's styles, and compare three virtual brow styles on your own face, with an intensity slider from lighter to darker. At the end it makes a comparison card with your original photo and the three looks side by side. The card itself carries the line 'Virtual eyebrow try-on · Actual treatment results may differ'.
That line is the key to using a brow preview before consultation well. The tool is not showing you what I will draw. It is showing you how shape and intensity change the overall impression of a face, which is a useful thing to look at for a few minutes. What you take away from it should be questions, because a question is something I can actually answer when I look at your real brows.
Watch for three reactions while you try it
While you switch between styles, pay attention to your own reactions rather than trying to pick a winner. I usually suggest noticing three things. The style you keep returning to. The style you dismissed in a second. And the intensity at which you stopped moving the slider. Each of those is a small piece of information about what you want.
Write them down as plain notes right away, before they blur: 'kept going back to Soft Arch', 'Natural Straight felt too flat on me', 'stopped about halfway on the slider'. Do not judge the notes yet. The point is to catch reactions while they are fresh, the same way you would note what you liked in a shop before trying on something else.
Turn each reaction into a question
A reaction becomes useful when you add 'with my brows' to it. 'I kept returning to Soft Arch' becomes 'Can my own brow carry a soft arch, or would it change too much of my shape?' 'Natural Straight felt flat' becomes 'Is a straighter line possible without looking flat?' 'I stopped halfway on the slider' becomes 'What would that lighter look mean for the menu, Natural Brow or Powder Soft Combo?'
Two or three questions are enough. More than that and we spend the consultation on the preview instead of on your brows. If you have more, choose the ones that would change your decision. People differ in how strongly they react to the styles; if you felt nothing much, that is also a note worth writing: 'none of the three felt right, I want to keep mine as they are.'
Keep the questions with the card
When you save the card, write your questions directly underneath it, in a note or in the message you will send. A card on its own tells me which images you saw. A card with three questions tells me what you were thinking while you looked at them, which is far more useful when I read it next to your bare-brow photo.
Keep your original photo visible in the card when you look at it again. The original is the brow I actually work with. If your questions are all about the virtual styles and none about the original, add one: 'What would you keep from my current brow?' That question often leads to the most useful part of the conversation.
Bring the questions, not a decision
Consultations at London Brow are translation-assisted over WhatsApp, and short questions translate best. Send the card, your two or three questions and one bare-brow photo, and say that you have not decided yet. That is the best way to arrive. I check your face shape, the direction of your hairs and how much hair you have before I draw anything, and your questions tell me where to start.
Before your consultation
- Note the style you kept returning to, the one you dismissed and where you stopped the slider.
- Add 'with my brows' to each note to turn it into a question.
- Keep two or three questions, choosing the ones that would change your decision.
- Write the questions under the saved card and add one about what to keep from your original brow.
Common questions
Should I pick my final style in the preview?
No. The preview compares virtual shapes and intensity on a photo. AI virtual brows are not a result, so use it to prepare questions. The design is decided after I look at your real brows.
What if I liked none of the three styles?
Write that down; it is useful. It may mean you want to keep your current shape, and that is a perfectly good starting point for the consultation.
