How a WhatsApp consultation works at London Brow
You open the chat and say hello, I ask for a bare-brow photo and what you want to change, you send both with your dates in Seoul, and I reply with what I see and the days that could work. Translation sits between every message. Payment, timing and touch-up terms are confirmed in the consultation, and we end the chat with an agreed date.
The shape of the conversation
I'm Jisun, the owner of London Brow in Seoul. A consultation with me over WhatsApp is a short conversation with a clear shape, and knowing the shape before you open the chat makes the whole thing easier. It goes: hello, photo and one sentence, my reading of the photo, your dates, an agreed day, and a few practical details confirmed as we go. That is the entire path from a stranger to an appointment. Nothing in it needs a Korean phone number, and nothing in it needs you to know a technique name.
I work alone and see one client at a time, so the person who answers your message is the person who will draw your brows. That matters for the chat in a practical way: whatever you tell me is not passed to anyone else, and what I reply is what I will actually do in the room. The consultation does not end when the chat ends. It continues in front of a mirror when you arrive. The chat is the part that decides whether the visit is worth your time.
Step one and two: your hello, and the two things I ask for
Your first message can be as short as hello, I am interested in brows. I will ask for two things in return: a photo of your bare brows, taken straight on in daylight with the hairs brushed the way you normally wear them, and one sentence about what you want to change. You can send both in your first message and skip a round of replies. A reference photo is welcome, with a note on the one part of it you like, but it is the third item, not the first.
Here is a way to see the chat from my side. When your photo arrives I look at three things before I write anything: how much hair you have and where it stops, whether the two brows differ from each other, and whether your sentence and your photo are asking for the same change. My reply tells you what I saw, and that reply is also your first real information about me. If it talks about your hairs and your face rather than about my studio, the consultation has started properly.
Step three: translation, and how to help it
Consultations at London Brow are translation-assisted. I read your message through translation and write mine the same way, so there is a short pause between messages and a plain style on both sides. It works best when you keep sentences short, name one thing per sentence and avoid slang. 'I want the tail a little longer' translates cleanly. 'Could you maybe sort of even them out a bit' does not. If my reply ever reads strangely, ask me to say it again in different words; that is normal in a translated chat and I would rather repeat than be misread.
Photos do a lot of the work that language cannot. A bare-brow photo, a made-up photo and a reference photo say more between them than a paragraph of description in either language. If you want to be very clear about one spot, mark it with a circle in your phone's photo editor and send that version too.
Step four and five: your dates, and the things we confirm as we go
Once I have read your photo, tell me your arrival and departure dates and the days you are free. I am closed on Sundays, so leave those out. I will reply with the days that could work, and we settle on one. We plan the timing together inside your trip rather than by a formula, so if a change of plan would collide with a flight, say so and we will place the appointment with room around it.
Several things are confirmed in the consultation rather than in this article: payment, how long we will need together, touch-up terms and the exact times available. I do not publish those as fixed numbers because they are settled with you, not around you. What I can tell you here is where to come: a 30-second walk from Seolleung Station. The meeting point and the way in are confirmed by message before your visit, so ask for them once the date is agreed.
Open the chat with these four lines
If you want to skip the back and forth, your first message can carry everything: 'Hello, I am interested in Natural Brow. Photo of my bare brows attached, taken in daylight. I want the front a little fuller and the tail left as it is. I am in Seoul from the 10th to the 17th, free on the 12th and 13th.' Replace the middle two lines with your own. I will answer with what I see in the photo, the days that could work, and the practical details to confirm. Then we have a date, and the rest happens in front of a mirror.
Before your consultation
- Take a bare-brow photo straight on in daylight before you open the chat, so your first message can carry it.
- Write one sentence about what you want to change, one idea per sentence, no slang.
- Send your arrival and departure dates and the days you are free, leaving Sundays out.
- Expect payment, timing and touch-up terms to be confirmed in the consultation, and ask for the meeting point once the date is agreed.
Common questions
Do I need a Korean phone number or app to book?
No. WhatsApp is enough for the whole consultation, from the first message to the agreed date. Everything practical is confirmed in that same chat.
How quickly will you reply?
I answer messages myself between clients, through translation, so there can be a pause. If you have a flight-fixed timetable, say so in your first message and I will prioritize the dates question.
Can the whole design be decided in the chat?
The menu and the direction can. The design itself is finished in the room with a mirror, because it depends on your face and hairs in person. Treat the chat as the first half of the consultation, not a substitute for it.
